Hi Guys,
The first lot of Designers’ Cruise 2017 Collections certainly set the standard high. Luckily for us, the second lot didn’t let them drop, presenting some breath-taking designs that have made a true impression on us at FXF – we’re so excited about 2017! We’re sharing some of our favourite looks from their shows and giving you the low down on their Collections so you can see what’s hot, and what’s not, in advance for next year.
Adam Lippes
Adam Lippes presented a pretty, boho take on 70s rock. His took his elegant Oscar De La Renta influences and used bright neon and layering to make them his own.
Akris
Bringing playfulness to dull suits and dark, corporate colours, Akris’ collection of deep oranges, teals and Camel and unusual prints brought a distinctly Saharan vibe.
Alberta Ferretti
Soft silk and lace detailing gave a sleepwear slant to this unique, nautical collection. More obvious black and white pieces were mixed with subtler designs, where inventive use of texture, print and shape brought seaside influences in to play.
Altuzarra
Lace pieces softened colour blocking whilst long pleated skirt gave elegance to chunky, geometric sweats, resulting in a well-balanced, retro, geek chic collection with added sex appeal.
Boss
A classic Boss collection of sleek, minimalist and modern designs, a-line shapes, tailoring and elegant silhouettes.
Calvin Klein Collection
Calvin Klein designed a youthful collection of playful pieces in a more mature, neutral palette. Geometric spot patterns and smock dresses met tailoring, hitting a quirky balance between childhood and sophistication.
Carven
Carven’s usual vintage vibe went even more experimentation that usual. It’s signature A-line shapes were contrasted with more un-done, softened silhouettes and metallics and black were used to give feminine pieces a punk edge.
Coach
A statement collection from start to finish. Leather bikers, oversized bomber jackets and retro detailing made this a stand out, preppy, punk show with an authentic, 70s/80s vibe.
Cushnie et Ochs
Tailoring made elegant, with tastefully cut out elements and added feminine details through intricate top designs.
Cédric Charlier
Charlier’s unsymmetrical collection played with ruffling in new and exciting ways, adding detailing to simple spaghetti strap dresses and providing the form in crop top elements.
Diesel Black Gold
Diesel’s well-known Punk personality had a particular penchant for off-the shoulder designs in this 2017 Cruise Collection.
Dion Lee
A futuristic take on modern, minimalistic design. Lee managed to make structured sexy through tight-fitted scuba and corset-like detailing.
Elie Saab
Charming as ever, Elie Saab’s Cruise Collection was all about flowers, ruffles…and black leather detailing. She too couldn’t resist jumping on board with the punk trend and it brought a new perspective to her delicately feminine pieces.
Ellery
An eclectic mix of vintage, futuristic and oriental influences.
Emilio Pucci
Striking, African influences were used to create a hypnotic explosion of colour and pattern. Statement ruffled skirts and tassel bags added even more impact to these unique, Summery looks.
Erika Cavallini
A vintage, laid-back pool-side vibe was made possible with slouchy fits, earthy, nautical colours and creatively used geometric patterns.
Etro
Integration of dusky and vibrant colours and patterns to more modern designs resulted in a highly authentic, but wearable tribal-bohemian collection.
Givenchy
The Haute-Couture Fashion House brought us new and unseen concepts and designs, with structured elements resulting in a warrior like theme throughout.
Helmut Lang
A beautifully balanced collection, where understated, tailored pieces met sumptuous silks and furs, bringing glamour to more simplistic styles.
Jonathan Simkhai
A Powerful Cruise Collection of tumbling ruffles, colour blocking and intricate lace, bringing a sexy, commanding vibe to modern woman dressing.
MSGM
A highly playful, boisterous Collection, scattered with sequins, oversized fits and bold logos, bringing a fun, collegiate vibe.
Marc Jacobs
Geometric patterns, Camo, metallics, zebra print…Marc Jacobs Cruise designs broke all the boundaries. An outrageous, neon punk Collection that you won’t be forgetting any time soon.
